Originally a local, one-city operation, the owner of FunForSingles decided to take the company national through the use of the Internet. It has now grown to one of the most visited singles sites on the web and the only one dedicated to events and activities as opposed to "dating".One of the first things to notice about the FunForSingles website is that it is geared toward a national audience, but divided into numerous "sub-sites" for each city or location. So, from the main page, one can click on their location to get specific, relevant information. This is very important in terms of making any website work for the owner. Once the user clicks on their location and can read the promotional content, the user can then click on the "Join Today" links to continue to the e-commerce section. From there, they are able to select a username and password along with providing other important data (data collection) in relation to their membership. Notice that if required information is not completed, including accepting the Terms & Conditions, the user cannot join. Once the information is completed, they are able to enter their credit card number, pay for their membership, and then log in to the Members Area once that is done. A Welcome email is sent as an autoresponder once the credit card transaction is approved. This goes to the new member while another email goes to FunForSingles to let them know someone joined. Once they access the Members Area, all members can manage their accounts, add "Event Credits" to their account (accounting component built specifically for this website for the members), sign up for (and pay for, if necessary) their events, look at their event and account history, read details about their event, including maps to the locations, cancel events, pay their monthly dues (either manually or sign up for automatic payments), and have access to other areas specific for members such as the "Member Xtras" area, the Travel area, the Members Biz (business section - for members only) and other exciting components that creates a community environment for the members. The FunForSingles Administrative Suite is unlike any other. It enables the management of FunForSingles to create the events, post them online so they are there and editable in real time, including maps, pictures, event descriptions, the cost of the event, etc. The details they enter are able to be viewed by the members in the Members Area. The system recognizes free events versus pay events and reacts accordingly. In addition, notes can be added to members' files and all updates are also done online. Because of the way the site is organized from and administrative standpoint, the need for paper of files has been completely wiped out! Everything is managed online. All accounting is done throught the Admin Suite as well as email addresses that can be downloaded for the weekly e-letter. All event planners are able to keep in touch with the local Event Coordinators to help them keep organized, which they all do through the website. All events are scheduled into the online Events Calendar. The events rotate according to the day, so past events automatically disappear. It is an extremely functional and highly developed system. All graphics, including the headers and menus, were created and developed by Concepts Dynamic.
